Meet some of our church officers
RACHEL PENNANT
Vicar
Rachel (Rev Dr Rachel Pennant) joined us in May 2016. She, and her husband, Julian, who is a Science teacher, have three children who attend local schools. Her experience of coming to know God’s love through the ministry of local churches changed her life.
Rachel’s prayer is that our church would be used to shine God’s love into the lives of many people in Hoddesdon. Rachel loves making links with the local community and in normal times can often be seen out and about on her bike or walking through the town centre.
KATE CARTER
Curate
Kate (Rev Kate Carter) joined us in June 2019. She is married to Chris and they moved here (with their two cats) from Watford where she worked for the NHS.
Kate says ‘I continue to be amazed and grateful to God for stepping into my life while I studied at University where some of my closest friends spent time talking with me about their Christian faith. Knowing that we are loved by God is life-changing and now the chance to share that with others, in my new role in the church, feels like a real joy and a privilege.’

Apart from family and her work in the church, Kate particularly loves her allotment and garden, music, walking, dreaming of overseas travel and catching up with friends over coffee
JACQUI GIFFORD
Church Administrator
Jacqui is married to Alan and has two daughters. She moved to the area in 1988, and started attending the Church a year later.
Jacqui says “The Church is my second family, a welcoming place where I have grown as a Christian and been supported in prayer. I have had the pleasure of being involved in many community projects, including helping with EARLY BIRDS, the mother and toddler group, Early Birds.”
LINDA HINKS

Linda joined the church in 1980 and was confirmed in 1981. At one time she worked in in the City for a merchant bank, now known as Deutsche Bank. She enjoys swimming, Pilates, baking, gardening and reading.

She is married to Alan and says “we have one son and three lovely grandchildren who have brought us so much joy”.
