4. The Story

Nearly nine months later, when Caesar Augustus was Roman Emperor, Joseph had to travel to his home town for a census. It meant leaving Nazareth with Mary and travelling all the way to Bethlehem. It was a long journey on dusty roads – about 30 miles. Perhaps they travelled by donkey?
