It happened in a very ordinary little town called Nazareth, a couple of hundred houses with fields between them. The people of Nazareth were a few extended families who all knew each other.

A young woman was getting on with her daily life, sweeping out the floor of her house. She was looking forward to her wedding day for she was engaged to be married. Her name was Mary.
